“David Zhou is the founder of Eastern Margins, a music company championing Alternative Asian Culture. Eastern Margins operates across events, label, booking agency and artist management, adopting a modular approach to its mission of globalising music from the Margins of East & South-East Asia.

Born in Nanjing, China and raised in the UK, David’s been promoting shows and DJing for just over a decade. As a speaker, he has spoken at Primavera Festival, Shanghai Rockbund Art Museum, AVA Festival, Migration Matters & several online symposiums. As an artist, he has performed at Pitchfork Music Festival, Paris Fashion Week and toured East & South-East Asia over 5 times. As an organiser, Eastern Margins has produced 250+ events and released 50+ records.

Eastern Margins seeks to draw upon those experiences to build a community where we’re free and comfortable to explore how culture can inform our creative practices.”
