“With more than a decade of music industry experience, Karma Bertelsen is an award-winning marketeer who has worked with some of the world’s biggest artists and exciting developing talent.
From Ed Sheeran, Craig David, and Red Hot Chili Peppers to Phoebe Bridgers, Freya Ridings, The 1975, and Björk, Bertelsen has worked on pioneering, chart-topping, and acclaimed music campaigns.
With a truly 360 holistic understanding of the sector, Bertelsen has worked across publishing, licensing, and royalties to live, label and distribution, giving her an extensive and unique understanding of audiences, artists, and the wider music industry.
Bertelsen is an active advocate for diversity in music and her work has seen her inducted into the Music Week Women in Music Awards Roll of Honour and SheSaidSo’s Alternative Power List. She is currently a Keychange mentor on their we.Grow 2023 programme and has also volunteered her time with Safe Gigs for Women. In 2022 and 2023, Bertelsen taught modules for Music Business masters students at Tileyard Education. She has also been a guest lecturer at Berklee and BIMM.
The experience Bertelsen brings to projects does not just come from her working life, outside of work she plays football for Goal Diggers FC, a London-based women and non-binary football club where she constantly learns about team work, leadership, diversity and community. But the thing she enjoys the most is taking her rescue dog Finn for long walks.”
